Leap Day 2020 at Coastline College

On Leap Day, Coastline held its annual CyberTech Girls event with 60 middle school and high school girls attending for hands-on workshops in digital forensics, cybersecurity, and computer hardware. CyberTech Girls brought together 18 mentors from government and industry cybersecurity roles to share their experiences with the students.

The mentors joined us from AccessData, CA Department of Toxic Substance Control, CISOSHARE, Crowdstrike, Farmers and Merchants Bank, Frost Tech Solutions, General Atomics, HireRight, Integrum, Raytheon, WiCyS Women in Cybersecurity, and a former CyberTech Girl returning as a mentor from Valencia High School. According to SAUSD’s Director of CTE and their teachers, the girls had a great time.

Below is a link to the blog that the Director of Digital Forensics at AccessData posted about attending the event and thanking Coastline for all that the college does to develop the future cybersecurity workforce.
